This 'monnikendam' dining table was designed by louis van teeffelen and produced by wébé in the netherlands in the 1960's. This round model has 2 leaves that can be shoved under the main leaf, creating a moon shaped table or a rectangular model with 2 round edges. This visionary concept is rarely seen quite original. It allows to adapt the table to the available space or the total amount of guests. With a generous diameter of 140 cm you can easily sit 5 to 6 people at the round table. There's a slight color difference between the leaves, because the outer leaves have been used very little, but nothing too disturbing. The slightly slanted positioning of the legs and the use of two tones of wood for the veneer top and solid teak legs are trademark features of louis van teeffelen's design. In very good condition.
