Beautiful plate inspired by the east india company of the qianlong period, eighteenth century, but dating from the nineteenth century. This hollow porcelain plate, presents a flower represented in the center surrounded by a vegetable frieze of cobalt color. Later, elements are chiseled into the porcelain, creating relief, while the outline of the plate is gilded. The qianlong period in china was a period of cultural development. The arrival of porcelain in europe was linked to the development of navigation and international trade. Porcelain was very popular in europe because of its lightness and durability. The import from china is linked to the lack of mastery of this technique by the europeans. French, dutch and british companies from the east indies brought porcelain to europe.
