A striking example of Italian postmodern lighting design, this Eleusi table lamp, created in the 1980s by Davide Mercatali and Paolo Pedrizzetti, embodies the bold experimentation and sculptural play of that era. The lamp features a graphically pure silhouette: a matte black cylindrical base supporting an inverted conical diffuser made of concentric metal rings, elegantly framed by a curved yellow arm. When illuminated, the stepped lampshade creates a fascinating gradient of shadow and light, both functional and atmospheric. The integrated dimmer allows for precise control of light intensity, enhancing its sculptural presence. Made in Italy, the Eleusi lamp captures the spirit of a generation of designers exploring the intersection of industrial design, art, and technology.
