Grandet teapot in flamed stoneware Pierrefonds – Heraldic Faience

Flamed stoneware teapot from the Pierrefonds factory. Rosy beige background animated by enamel drips in shades of blue-green, olive, ochre, brown, and mauve. The decoration, directly resulting from the work with enamels and firing, varies naturally across the piece. The teapot features a generously globular body, a long spout slightly raised, and an angular handle. Its lid reflects the same shades of enamel. Marking under the base: 700 FH Pierrefonds, with FH standing for Faïencerie Héraldique, and 700 being the shape number. Founded in 1903 by Count Charles-Henri Olivier Hallez d’Arros, the Faïencerie Héraldique of Pierrefonds, in Oise, later developed a significant production of artistic stoneware, notably characterised by its research on flamed and crystallised enamels. Period: first half of the 20th century, probably the 1920s-1930s. In beautiful vintage condition, shiny, clean interior, with some small irregularities and variations in enamel inherent to the manufacturing and firing process (see photos). Length from handle to spout: 28 cm, maximum diameter: 19 cm, height: 13 cm without the lid and 16 cm with the lid. Estimated capacity: approximately 1.5 litres. An almost century-old silhouette, enhanced by enamels in earthy and blue-green shades that remain very contemporary.
