Vase pitcher Georges Martin

Beautiful decorative jug in stoneware from the workshop of Georges Martin, a ceramist from Ardèche who was based in Plats and then Saint-Remèze (Ardèche) from 1968 to 2001, known for his wood firings and expressive glazes. A characteristic piece from his 1970s production, combining a simple cylindrical shape with abstract decoration in shades of brown, black, and golden ochre on a grey ash background. The richness of the layered glazes demonstrates a strong technical mastery. Hand-engraved signature in the raw clay on the back of the piece. Very good overall condition. No visible chips or cracks.
