Sandstone vase By Bouffioulx Jules Guérin Jumet, 1st half 1900s

This is a beautiful carafe, made by Roger Guerin from Bouffioulx, Belgium. Guerin (1896-1954) was a highly respected Belgian ceramist from the Art Deco period. Inspired by techniques from the Middle Ages, he produced hard ceramics that were fired once at a high temperature. He produced very limited editions of series or unique pieces. This carafe was made in the early 20th century from sandstone. The vase is marked on the bottom including Guerin's signature. Dimensions: 12 × 13 × 33 cm (L X W X H).
