I am selling a two-part glass-fronted bookcase, in the style of 19th-century Parisian bourgeois furniture. Upper section: Four glass doors with rounded arches, period blown glass with characteristic ripples. Original brass locks with key. Mortise and tenon construction, without modern screws. Depth: 40 cm. Lower section: Four doors with arched mouldings, mortise and tenon construction. Back made of vertical period boards. Depth: 56 cm. Total dimensions: Width: 245 cm — Height: 238 cm — Depth: 56 cm (bottom) / 40 cm (top) Materials: Solid wood, period secondary interior wood. 19th-century slotted screws at the back. Original brass fittings. Condition: Wear and patina consistent with age. Interior needs cleaning. Solid structure, functional doors, key present. Issue with the closure of the glass doors — adjustment of the hinges or replacement of the latches may be required. Transport: Collection only, specialised carrier required.
