Victorian revolving library – Period 1870/1900 – Mahogany and brass

Rotating library on wheels, Victorian era, circa 1870-1900, made of solid mahogany with a reddish-brown hue, featuring rich patinated brass ornamentation. The upper structure is framed by a gallery of fluted Corinthian columns, with brass capitals and bases, connecting two moulded mahogany shelves. The lower part has four sides adorned with vertical brass strips forming a grid, framing three levels of shelves. The whole rests on a moulded mahogany base, mounted on a central cross and period brass wheels allowing for complete rotation. The brass fittings are present around the edge of the upper shelf, the flutes of the columns, the strips, and the base. The piece is entirely in its original condition, with a consistent patina in line with the age of the furniture. Light signs of wear are noted. Polishing of the brass can be done in the workshop upon request, as an option. Dimensions: H. 108 cm – W. 45 cm – Weight: 18 kg.
