A beautiful swivel armchair from the legendary Thonet brand, a pioneer of bentwood furniture. Dating from the 1940s/50s, it is made of entirely bent beechwood (Thonet never uses straight lines!). With its superb original golden patina, it functions perfectly (a tiny bit of play in the screw thread, but nothing significant) and is in excellent overall condition. The craftsmanship of the wood bending is truly admirable, both in the base and the armrests, and the overall look of a piece of furniture whose design has remained timeless in over 70 years. Clean, bright, and ultra-practical, it is consistently modern. Perfect for our modern interiors. This is an identified Thonet model, and part of the distinctive Thonet label remains affixed under the seat. The illuminated Thonet labels are still clearly legible. In short, an authentic piece. Some signs of wear here and there, scratches, etc., but in excellent overall condition. Length: 58.5 cm Depth: 48 cm The seat height can be raised up to 62 cm!
