This precocious and gifted designer and architect left us on May 22, 2015. A year later, the Pascal Cuisinier gallery paid tribute to him by organizing a retrospective exhibition. Michel Mortier, although little known to the general public, is nonetheless one of the best French creators of the post-war period. Very precocious, he graduated from the School of Applied Arts at the age of 19. He then held positions of responsibility at the Studium du Louvre and then at the Bon Marché in Brussels and, at the age of 24, took over the management of Marcel Gascoin's ARHEC until 1954. There he met Pierre Guariche and Joseph André Motte with whom he founded the Atelier de Recherche Plastique (ARP), one of the first experiences of collective signature in design in France. Fabrics in good condition Traces of humidity at the feet Traces of wear clearly visible in the detail of the attached photos Superb blue velvet
