Pair of THONET 1920s chairs - a variant of the Model No. 519, which appeared around 1911 and was chosen in 1913 by the architect Adolf Loos (some attribute the model's paternity) to the Café Capua in Vienna. Our later copy - 1920s, manufactured by the firm that had become Czechoslovakian - had conical straight front feet that were certainly considered less outdated than the old "Queen Anne" taste for feet. The ensemble, however, retains this English style revisited by the Viennese Secession, whose modernity continues to make recipe throughout the art deco years. Original seating slapped solid wood form "saddle". ---- Good condition of the pair, dark mahogany period hue refreshed during the experience, one of the two chairs has a little more use than the other (see seating). The pair is very robust structure, stable, ready to install. Their design is expressed from all angles (face, profile, back)... Height 87 cm - Seated: 42 x 39 cm - seat height 47 cm.
