Antique 19th-century polychrome earthenware pitcher. Unique piece. Bubble shape resting on a circular foot. Richly molded side handle in the form of a scroll, decorated with raised pearls. Projected spout adorned with a raised cabochon motif in the Neo-Renaissance style. Main decoration depicting a stylized thistle, central flower, veined and spiny leaves. Background punctuated by a textured geometric pattern, dotted and cross-hatched, creating a pleasing contrast with the vegetal forms. Lower section decorated with vegetal scrolls and tendrils evoking leafy aquatic movements. Upper section highlighted by an ochre frieze surmounted by a band of bluish ogival motifs in the Neo-Gothic style. Rich and harmonious color palette. Emerald green fading to seafoam green. Ochre, golden brown, and cream. Blue and mauve highlights on the upper frieze. The overall effect is vibrant but not garish. Pitcher dating from the 19th century, early Art Nouveau style, numbered in relief. Made in the Eastern France pottery, likely Onnaing or Sarreguemines. It is in very good condition. The glossy glaze is well preserved. No cracks. Minor wear to the glaze here and there is visible in the photos. đ 20 X 12 cm. ⨠Carefully packaged for shipping. ⨠We have other listings online, please take a look. 12/25.
