MUSEUM-GRADE ART DECO MASTERPIECE. A monumental glass treasure, handcrafted in the early 1930s by master glassmaker Karl Wiedmann for WMF, Germany. Executed in the complex "Ikora" crystal technique. While standard pieces measure 30–36 cm, this unique giant shatters boundaries with a diameter of 47.5 cm and a weight of 6.3 kg. It is one of the largest specimens to survive production. 🔥 Craftsmanship & Uranium Ban. Creating this piece required a team of glassblowers and raw centrifugal force (spinning technique) to open the red-hot glass cylinder into a flat platter. The piece is made from pre-war uranium glass in the rare yellow-orange/green hue—the hardest and most technically demanding color to produce. Under UV light, it fluoresces in intense neon green. Due to post-war regulations on radioactive materials, a uranium glass object of this scale can never be produced again. 📜 Kiln DNA & Authenticity. Up to 90% of these dishes shattered during cooling. This piece features authentic micro-inclusions of coal trapped inside the glass—a historic fingerprint from WMF’s original coal-fired kilns (pre-1938). One spot left a microscopic, tactile texture on the surface, felt only with a fingernail; the glasswork's true DNA. Condition: Impressive vintage condition. 100% intact with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The dish has a beautiful surface patina; the few scratches it has are only visible upon close inspection and when the light hits just right.
