This magnificent polychrome vase is a celadon vase made of cantonese porcelain, originally from china at the end of the nineteenth century. Canton porcelain, also called cantonese porcelain, is a typical and characteristic style decorated in guangzhou city. Guangzhou is the capital and largest city of guangdong province in southern china. In the 18th and 20th centuries, porcelain objects were the largest export produced in china. They were made, enamelled and then baked in jingdezhen, the prefectural city of jiangxi province, known as the porcelain capital because porcelain had been produced there for at least 1000 years. They were then transported to guangzhou to be decorated with glazes, and finally sold and also exported. Pierced at the bottom where the stamp is located.
