Old gate of authentic dogon. The dogon tribe is originally from mali, their audacity and creativity are recognized throughout the world. Extremely decorative, they are the preferred target of connoisseurs, decorators and interior designers. Like pillars, shutters and ladders, in african art, the doors of the dogon are a good example of their craftsmanship, each door of granaries is a true work of wood carvings. There are most often cosmogonic representations such as nommo (primordial characters), kanaga or sirigé dancers, totemic animals such as lizards, crocodiles, monkeys and snakes. The motifs are intended to deter the intruder, whether human or animal, from entering the granary. Each door has imperfections on the wood, traces of wear and an irregular appearance, the manufacture being artisanal and old, you have the assurance that you offer yourself a timeless piece of history, authenticity and tradition. Ethnicity: dogon. Country: mali. Materials: wood. Approximate sizes. Height: 63 cm. Width: 43 cm.
