Magnificent Art Deco chandelier from the 1930s, very rare, in impeccable condition, skyscraper style. A Sabino chandelier, with the grace of pure straight lines in immaculate whiteness... Sabino chandeliers (circa 1930) Marius-Ernest Sabino revolutionised lighting by making glass the main component of the luminaire rather than just an ornament. His creations are distinguished by: • Moulded-pressed glass: Often frosted, sandblasted, or opalescent, it diffuses a soft and modern light for the time. • Stylised geometric and floral patterns: The glassworks feature cascades, skyscraper structures, fruit motifs, or fountains typical of the late Art Deco style (1925-1935). • Massive architectures: Often composed of a central bowl and interlocking glass plates (or "wings"), mounted on nickel-plated bronze, brass, or iron frames.
