Ancient Kabyle Berber dish made of hand-moulded terracotta, probably from the first half of the 20th century. A beautiful piece of North African folk art, created using traditional techniques with a light slip and painted decoration in brown-black and ferruginous red tones. The centre is adorned with a large stylised bird with checkered wings, surrounded by plant motifs, while the edge features a scalloped geometric border. The irregular shape, the rough reverse marked by firing, and the variations in colour testify to entirely handcrafted production. The surface retains a very beautiful ancient patina, with natural wear, fine cracks, and slight irregularities typical of this type of traditional pottery. The whole is in good condition, without any cracks or chips, with natural wear over time that gives it its charm. Diameter: 30 cm.
