Mid-century design Mathieu Matégot style armchairs perforated metal

Three mid-century design armchairs in perforated metal from the 1950s. They may well have been made in Mathieu Matégot’s studio: they are fashioned using his signature ‘Rigitulle’ technique, combining perforated metal with pliant metal tubing. They have been repainted several times and have been kept exactly as they were found, but fitted with new caps. The light, graphic design and layered coats of paint give these chairs a beautiful, well-worn character. Lovely in a mid-century, industrial or French modernist interior, indoors or on a veranda. Dimensions: 75 cm high, 60 cm wide, 65 cm deep; seat height 38 cm. Material: perforated metal, metal tubing. Style: in the style of Mathieu Matégot. Period: 1950s. Quantity: 3.
