Beautiful, clean-lined pendant lamp designed by claus bonderup & torsten thorup, manufactured by fog & morup in denmark circa 1960. This beautiful, elegant piece has a smooth shape reminiscent of a water drop. An iconic piece of mid-century scandinavian design, it is made from white lacquered metal with a white interior. The shape of the lamp allows it to emit a bright, wide light that makes it perfect over a dining table, but can also work anywhere else in an interior. No dents or warping, it is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of use consistent with age preserving a beautiful patina. Bonderup and thorup wanted to produce a lamp with clean, clean lines and a geometric shape. Their design was entered into a competition at the school of architecture at the academy of fine arts and won first prize.
