Michel lanos (1926-2005) ovoid vase on black, copper and green covered sandstone heel (1926-2005). It's signed under the "l" base. This french ceramicist and sculptor began learning pottery in biot, in the alpes-maritimes, in his wife's family. He stayed there for ten years as a rope-turning, then moved to the paris region where he established his own studio in bondy in 1970. That's when he starts working on sandstone. In 1976, he moved to fontenay-sous-bois and continued the production of sandstone, essentially using three basic colors that he superimposed: black, iron blue and copper red. He is also the author of sculptures in which one can distinguish two styles: the very colorful "cobra" sculptures and the "blue" sculptures with torn and asymmetrical shapes. Michel lanos died in fontenay-sous-bois in 2005.
