Art nouveau firewall in black enamelled sheet metal - decoration of painted tulips screen 1900

This superb art nouveau firewall is made of enamelled painted sheet metal. This screen is composed of three panels. To hide what should not be seen, you must be able to contemplate the screen itself! This one is sublime: it is decorated with tulip flowers that unfold over the entire height of the panels. The art nouveau motifs are characteristic - inspired by nature and delicately undulating - they are hand painted. All rounded lines, here is a happy marriage between practical use and work of art. In dark and warm hues, the panels are black and the flowers are painted orange-red and the stems green. The pictorial layer is thick and textured. It is about 116 cm high X 112 cm wide. It is composed of two side panels 31 cm wide and a central panel of 50 cm. I report traces of use: irregularities and cracks in the peeling paint, as well as traces of rust and soot.
