Elegant Louis XV style screen with three moving leaves, lacquered and gilded wood. The moulded wooden structure richly carved with shells, florets and floral garlands, is lacquered in frosted green and gilded with gilding. Each shutter of this rock screen is dressed in a fabric patterned with exotic flowers and supported by two small arched feet. The upper part is perforated by three beveled glass panes, embedded and trimmed with shells and florets at the front. The central panel slightly higher than the others is surmounted by a garland of flowers. The leaves are connected by hinges and can be folded. This production of the late nineteenth century illustrates this renewed affection for the Dionysian style of Louis XV, borrowed from lightness, charm and elegance. Condition Report: In good original condition. Some wear of use to gilding. The screen has been reupholstered.
