Abstract black terracotta sculpture, 1960s

Abstract terracotta sculpture dating from the 1960s, modelled as a compact composition of flowing, interlocking volumes. Finished in a deep patinated black surface that emphasises the sculpture’s contours and gives the work a distinctly modernist character. Mounted on a rectangular stone base. An expressive example of European postwar abstract art, balancing biomorphic forms with a compact, almost architectural composition. The sculpture is monogrammed, though the maker remains unidentified. Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. Patinated surface.
