Set of 2 HB Quimper faience plates with a decoration known as "à la poire" or pearled. The design is inspired by Breton embroidery and is created using a "pear" technique to apply a multitude of enamel dots on a coloured background. It was initiated by Pierre Poquet in the 1930s/40s. On the back of the plates are the inscriptions F 176 and D 708, indicating shape and decoration, along with the initials PK for Pierre Poquet. The 2 plates are in excellent condition.
