Made by gelderland, a dutch furniture manufacturer in the 1950s. The lotus chair by rob parry is probably one of the most important and best-known pieces of mid-century dutch furniture design. Elegant, minimal yet modern looking today. This is the high back version with the wooden frame and diagonal legs. Our item is a vintage and early example. The armchair is in good condition. Rob parry. With minimal use of materials, parry managed to create an elegant and spacious design. The combination of these properties and the use of metal is a perfect example of dutch mid-century modern design. In his career he designed many items. Famous are, for example, his lotus lounge chair and sofa, f&t dining or side chair, coffee table and parlez dining table. Together with friso kramer, martin visser, cees braakman and wim rietveld, rob parry is one of the best and most famous designers of the dutch midcentury.
