Rare double pedestal partner's desk by Hampton & Son, Pall Mall, hardwood.

We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare Victorian partner's desk with double pedestals from Hampton & Son Pall Mall, circa 1870. This mahogany desk is of very fine quality, featuring a leather top made by the highly regarded brand Hampton & Son. The upper left and right drawers are fully stamped Hampton & Son Pall Mall, while the other drawers have Hobbs & Co locks, and all the handles are period and original. The top shows multiple signs of patina and colour variations, and the wood of the desk is in a similar condition. The desk has been thoroughly cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished. Dimensions: Height 71.5 cm, Width 137 cm, Depth 80 cm, Leg height 56 cm, Leg width 60 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. The condition is good with wear consistent with age and use, and slight discolouration. Please refer to the very detailed images, which are an integral part of the condition description. The period leather shows natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear; it is recommended to wax regularly and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent drying and discolouration.
