Georgian military campaign desk Regency with large map drawer

We are delighted to offer for sale this superb Georgian military campaign desk / original Regency dating from around 1800-1820, featuring a large top drawer for maps. A very well-crafted piece in fine mahogany with all original fittings, including side handles. The desk has a large top drawer known as the map drawer. The whole piece has been cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom, showcasing a beautiful period patina. It shows honest wear associated with over 200 years of use. Dimensions: Height: 90 cm, Width: 127.5 cm, Depth: 60 cm, Knee space: Height - 64.5 cm, Width - 59.5 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. Please refer to the detailed photos for the condition. Note that vintage and period items, such as leather, will always have a natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear. We recommend regular waxing to prevent moisture loss and not to expose hand-dyed leather to prolonged direct sunlight as this may dry it out and cause discolouration.
