Antique Signed Ceramic Ball Vase Lacquered Finish

Superb vintage vase in round shape in enameled stoneware whose finish evokes red lacquer dotted with black. We find the artist's signature on the base: andré pelt first working as an insurance agent, andré pelt did not start as a ceramist until around the age of 40. He set up his workshop in alsace, first in lapotroie, then in berg sur moselle. Here he devoted himself to stoneware and porcelain, and developed nearly 1300 enamels. He would only use about thirty of them, whose mastery of colors made his reputation. His works can now be found in museums as well as among private collectors. Very good condition d 18 xh 15 cm.
