Impressive ancient wine or fruit press screw, entirely shaped from a single piece of solid wood. The upper part features a spectacular helical thread sculpted into the wood, once intended to exert the pressure necessary for the operation of the press. The massive base, slightly faceted in shape, has a large rectangular opening that corresponds to the old manoeuvring or assembly system. This antique piece stands out for its monumental dimensions, significant weight, and beautiful dark brown patina. The traces of tools, signs of use, irregularities, and longitudinal cracks bear witness to its handcrafted production and original use. Now repurposed from its initial function, it serves as a true decorative sculpture, ideal for a brutalist, rustic, wabi-sabi, or industrial interior, as well as in a cellar, restaurant, shop, or exhibition space. Antique condition with wear, cracks, and visible marks, consistent with its age and the massive nature of the wood.
