Gilded bronze foliage side tables with Chinese lacquer Maison Baguès 1940

Superb pair of end tables with a chiseled foliage structure in gilt bronze and Chinese lacquer top from Maison Baguès dating from the early 1940s. The bronze work, combined with the lacquered decoration of birds and foliage are typical of the neoclassical style, inspired by Asia, of Maison Baguès. The gilt bronze structure has been entirely cleaned and presents a superb patina, the lacquer tops entirely revarnished with a French polish. Rare, timeless and very decorative pieces.
