Decorative collector's plate from the "The Adventures of Aladdin" series, created in the 1980s in the Rosenthal workshops according to the design of Danish artist Björn Wiinblad. Made of porcelain, with a diameter of 16.5 cm, it catches the eye with its intense cobalt blue, which serves as a background for a rich and multicoloured composition. The edge of the plate is adorned with a repetitive golden pattern, and the centre features the scene "Aladdin imprisoned in the enchanted garden" – a stylised character in a fairy-tale pose, surrounded by a mosaic of floral and geometric patterns in red, orange, turquoise, and green. The whole piece is finished with a glossy and smooth surface, metallic gold details, and the artist's signature applied in gold on the underside. The plate is in very good condition, with no visible signs of wear or damage. This porcelain composition reflects the spirit of the 1980s – a time when European design drew inspiration from Eastern motifs, reinterpreting them in a mid-century modern perspective. Björn Wiinblad tells his own version of the "Tales of the Thousand and One Nights": the cobalt blue evokes the depth of night, the golden ornaments shimmer like the lights of old Baghdad, and the elaborate scene is full of theatrical expression, typical of Wiinblad's work. The plate seems to whisper stories of distant lands – full of colour, richness, and fairy-tale fantasy. On a plain wall or in a display case with other porcelain collections, the plate can create an expressive and atmospheric accent. It is advisable to pair it with elements that have smooth and neutral surfaces, which will highlight the richness of the colours and ornaments – for example, a low shelf in light wood or a glass console. It will fit perfectly in eclectic and collector's interiors, but also as a unique accent in a vintage or mid-century modern inspired living room. The price indicated is for a single piece.
