Wall or decorative collector's plate from the 1980s, designed by Danish artist Björn Wiinblad for the German brand Rosenthal, made of high-gloss porcelain. The background of the plate is a deep, saturated cobalt, on which is depicted an expressive and multicoloured scene "Aladdin meets the magician" – the third part of a series inspired by "The Tales of the Thousand and One Nights." The stylised characters with expressive features and richly adorned costumes are surrounded by a raised golden border in a baroque rhythm. The colour palette combines intense red, green, yellow, orange, purple, and turquoise. The surface is smooth and glazed, and the golden ornaments are noticeably raised. At the bottom, the artist's golden signature is visible. Diameter of the plate: 16.5 cm. Kept in very good condition – with no visible damage or signs of use. This decorative object seems to tell its own story – whimsical patterns, a theatrical stylisation of the characters, and a luxurious frame evoke the atmosphere of the artistic experiments of the time when Björn Wiinblad combined Eastern inspirations with a Danish sense of colour and form. The cobalt background and gilding recall the decor of a childhood fairytale palace, and the artist's characteristic and free style is recognisable in every detail. The plate, belonging to a narrative cycle, draws the eye like a book illustration coming to life on porcelain. It can be displayed in the living room on a wall, above a console, or among other collectibles, where its vibrant colour and textured relief will create a focal point. It fits well into mid-century modern arrangements, eclectic compositions with Eastern accents, or in classic interiors with a touch of applied art.
