Description
Set of six small candle holders (h: 12cm) in glass containing an air bubble, design by bent severin (1925 2012) for the danish glassworks holmegaard in 1957. These candle holders come from the "princess" collection which offered a whole range of glasses (water, wine, cognac, champagne, etc...) for tableware. They can be used in individual candle holders to be placed near the plates of the guests, in the center of the table or arranged on a fireplace, a piece of furniture or in front of a window as in northern countries. (an original label still present on one of the candlesticks). Bent severin is best known as an architect, he created factories and hotels as early as 1960 when he set up his own agency in denmark before moving to singapore in 1973. But he also worked as a designer for the holmegaard glassware with the princess series, for gense with the old farmer cutlery series or by designing a futuristic looking bus for the airline sas!.
