This small oak desk table, crafted in the Louis XIII style, dates from the mid-19th century. It seduces with its noble appearance and its carpentry work typical of historical reinterpretations of the Second Empire. Its rectangular top is surrounded by a corbin beak carved with geometric figures. It rests on a belt decorated with diamonds, each decorated with a flower in the center. The corners are also carved with crosses accompanied by engraved flowers. This table has a large drawer decorated with a pendant metal handle. The four twisted, spiral-turned legs perfectly embody the Louis XIII aesthetic, combining robustness and sculptural elegance. These legs are connected by an H-shaped crossbar, composed of turned and carved tops and crosspieces that reinforce the stability while enriching the decorative character of the whole. The solid oak reveals a beautiful depth of tone and a warm texture, highlighting the quality of the wood and the care taken in its finish. This piece of furniture, both functional and decorative, can serve as a side desk, console table, or display table in a classic or eclectic interior. ******** Period: Mid-19th century.
