Kai Kristiansen Model 42 Teak Chairs by Schou Andersen, Denmark, 1960s. Elegant set of four Model 42 chairs designed by Kai Kristiansen and manufactured by Schou Andersen in Denmark in the 1960s. The chairs feature solid teak frames with beautifully pronounced grain and newly upholstered seats and backrests in orange recycled wool. Overall dimensions: H: 73 W: 54 D: 57. Model 42 is one of Kai Kristiansen’s most recognizable designs, valued for its sculptural frame, balanced proportions, and distinctive pivoting backrest, which gently adjusts to the sitter’s posture. Their refined construction makes them suitable as desk chairs, dining chairs, or accent chairs in a living room, study, or bedroom. The chairs have been professionally restored. The teak frames have been cleaned, refreshed, and protected with high-quality professional products. The seat foam has been replaced for improved comfort, while the new wool upholstery has been applied in keeping with the original upholstery method. The chairs are in very good vintage condition.
