Description
Period: ca. Late 19th century this model of dressing table was popular during the louis XV era when wigs were fashionable. The deep compartment was used to store wigs. The center panel lifts to reveal a mirror (new replacement). There is a drawer and a writing tablet in the center. The right side compartment is shallower and there is therefore a small drawer underneath (the left one is a fake). The table has been given a makeover while retaining original features such as hardware and corner bronzes. The curved legs and main body have been painted in an ultra-matte laurel green color. Square frames were painted gold. This piece had to be painted to give it a second life because the marquetry was too damaged. Condition: good. Renovated. Lock and key works. New mirror. The table is over a hundred years old and therefore some age marks are normal. Sliding the mirror back and forth and opening the shutters requires gentle insistence. Dimensions: 76 cm high, 78.5 cm long, 43.5 cm wide, 17 kg no delivery. The hairdresser can be picked up on site in genval, belgium. I can deliver to the town or neighboring towns.
