We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning George III chest of drawers from around 1760, made of walnut with shell inlay. This piece is a true work of art, beautiful from every angle. The walnut panels have a lovely sheen under the light. The handles are all original from the early 18th century, with a charming natural patina. The drawers are graduated or "Waterfall, " which sets this piece apart from more common examples. It has been thoroughly cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished, with an honest original finish. There are some cracks from wood shrinkage, minor losses, and the usual general patina for a piece over 260 years old, none of which detracts from its charm and quality. Dimensions: Height 89 cm, Width 70 cm, Depth 43 cm. The chest of drawers is in fair condition with wear consistent with its age, minor losses and damage, as well as slight discolouration.
