Superb decorative wall plate or presentation piece in glazed ceramic, signed by Jean Lurçat for the Sant Vicens workshops (Perpignan), dated 1956! Diameter: 25 cm. Height: 3 cm. Typical 1950s shiny ochre/terracotta background. Stylised relief decoration in white glaze: mythical animal figure / deer with dynamic antlers, very graphic and emblematic of Lurçat's bestiary. Signature on the back in tactile relief (raised black glaze): "Dessin J.Lurçat Sant-Vicens 56w" – authentic and classic of the artist's productions (1951-1966). Authentic mid-century French vintage piece, handcrafted and heritage. In perfect general condition, intact and shiny motif on the front. Small discreet chip on the edge (approximately 5-8 mm, minor loss of glaze, not visible from the front and without impact on the decoration) – full transparency, zoom photos included. Ideal for collectors of 50s design, 20th-century French ceramics, or Scandinavian/vintage decor. Jean Lurçat is a recognised master (tapestry + ceramics), and Sant Vicens is the exclusive workshop where he created these iconic pieces.
