In Arne Vodder's production, comfort is never separated from form, and this pair of armchairs is an excellent example. The teak structure maintains the typical lightness of Danish design from the 1960s, while the wide, well-padded seat introduces a more relaxed and welcoming dimension. Upon closer inspection, one notices that the wood plays not only a structural role. The profiles accompany the seat with continuity, defining the character of the project and contributing to that sense of balance that has made Arne Vodder one of the protagonists of Scandinavian modernism. The warm green upholstery pairs particularly well with the teak. It is neither a bright nor overly dark shade, but a soft, deep colour that highlights the wood and makes the armchairs easy to integrate into both contemporary environments and more classic contexts. Used in pairs in a living room, a reading nook, or a conversation space, they retain that quality typical of the best Danish furniture from the sixties: being comfortable, functional, and beautiful to look at even when not in use.
