Stunning 'Sapporo' sideboard designed by Mario Marenco for Mobil Girgi, produced in Italy during the 1970s. The design combines strong geometric proportions with softly rounded edges, characteristic of Marenco's architectural yet approachable aesthetic. Executed in richly grained walnut wood with a deep warm tone, the sideboard features a clean horizontal silhouette elevated by subtle detailing and carefully balanced proportions. The recessed handles and gently curved corners create a sense of continuity across the design, while the spacious interior offers practical storage behind its doors and drawers. This statement piece will bring character in any room! Mario Marenco was born in 1933. He studied architecture in Naples and won research grants for Stockholm and Chicago. In 1960 he opened in Rome his own atelier of architecture and design named Studio DEGW in Rome. During his career as an architect, he taught at the University of Sydney and worked with companies such as B&B, Arflex and Poltrana Frau. Mario Marenco is also known for his appearances on TV but his career as an actor and humorist has never overshadowed his predisposition for design. Designer: Mario Marenco. Manufacturer: Mobil Girgi.
