The long sequence of doors and drawers gives this sideboard by Bertil Fridhagen a rigorous rhythm, softened by the warmth and natural grain of the teak. The front is almost entirely free of applied elements: its most distinctive feature is the recessed pulls of the four drawers, carved directly into the wood and transformed into a graphic detail. Tall legs lighten the overall volume, while the four doors open to two compartments with shelves. Designed for Bodafors, the sideboard reflects Fridhagen’s approach to Swedish modernism, where precise construction, balanced proportions and the quality of the wood become the expressive elements of the piece.
