Elegant and large round serving dish with a shallow depth (ideal for saucy dishes, vegetables, or risottos) made of fine Limoges porcelain, manufactured by the prestigious house of L. Bernardaud & Cie (stamped B&Co on the back). This authentically shaped piece from the Art Deco period (circa 1930) features the guarantee label "Limoges Unique". It showcases a stunning geometric and floral design composed of a navy blue and gold frieze, interwoven with delicate bouquets of roses. A safe bet for enthusiasts of "mix and match" antique tableware. A perfect centrepiece to complete your service or for a festive table with retro chic charm. In very good condition. The porcelain is brilliant, and the patterns are perfectly preserved. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Please note a very slight and discreet fading in places on the outer rim, normal for its age and indicative of its authenticity. Diameter: 29.2 cm. Height: 4 cm. Usable depth: 2 cm. Weight: 800 g. Explanations on the stamps: B & Co / LIMOGES FRANCE (in green): This is the white trademark of Bernardaud (B & Co for Bernardaud and Company), actively used since the early 20th century. LIMOGES FRANCE UNIQUE (in green): This green stamp corresponds to the mark of the Union Porcelainière. Registered in 1929, this "Limoges Unique" label guaranteed the authenticity and quality of 100% Limoges production. TACHET / QUINCAILLERIE / THIERS (in pink): This is the commercial mark of the retailer of the time. Hardware stores and department stores in the provinces often had a "Tableware" section and had luxury tableware they ordered from Limoges stamped in the name of their own shop (here, the Tachet Hardware Store located in Thiers in the Puy-de-Dôme). Thanks to the intersection of these stamps, we can precisely date the manufacture of these pieces between 1929 and the 1930s/1940s.
