Vintage magazine rack Portariviste (Art. 270) by Rodolfo Bonetto for
Glossy black, curved and sculptural, this magazine rack by Rodolfo Bonetto for Bilumen has a U-shaped silhouette with rounded ends. A single volume, folded in on itself, which provides two storage spaces. In the middle, a dome-shaped handle serves to move it and adds an unexpected graphic detail. The lacquered black gives the object a very clear presence, almost monolithic. Placed on the floor, near a sofa, at the foot of a desk, or in an entrance, it stores magazines, newspapers, vinyl records, or documents. Another clever feature of the model: when you have two, they slide into each other. Bilumen, a Milanese house of plastic furniture, and Rodolfo Bonetto, a prominent name in Italian industrial design, have turned storage into a fully-fledged design object. The magazine rack has become one of the emblematic pieces of Italian Space Age design, balancing pure forms and moulded material. Brand: Bilumen. Designer: Rodolfo Bonetto.
