Centre table / flat desk for ladies. Napoleon III style, circa 1860–1880. Ebony wood (beech or blackened pear), gallery and gilt brass fittings. Made in a quality Parisian workshop. A console table / flat desk in ebony with: Glossy black lacquered top with rounded corners, adorned with inlaid fillets and geometric patterns (gilded metal or mother-of-pearl) — fine marquetry work. Belt with central drawer and key lock, bordered by a chiselled gilt bronze gallery. 4 tapered column-turned legs, blackened, with gilt rings. X or H stretcher between the legs — decorative reinforcement. Condition: very good, well-preserved glossy lacquer, bronzes present. Napoleon III table / flat desk – ebony wood – chiselled gilt bronze – 19th century. Exceptional centre table or flat desk in Napoleon III style, second half of the 19th century. Lacquered black ebony wood, oval top with cut corners adorned with a central medallion engraved with arabesques and scrolls, framed by inlaid fillets. Belt dressed with a remarkable chiselled gilt bronze border with floral motifs running around the entire perimeter. Four fluted column legs turned with sleeves and engraved gilt bronze rings. Stretcher with four curved arches joined by a central finial in ebony wood on a bronze base. Central drawer with lock and original key, interior lined with burgundy velvet. Very high-quality craftsmanship, a piece of high-ranking bourgeois furniture. Some signs of wear consistent with age — legs with slight traces of woodworm (old, non-evolving). 📐 Dimensions: 130x75x77. ⚠️ Heavy and fragile piece. Careful transport essential. Estimated period: 1860–1900, possibly a quality reissue from the early 20th century. The ebonisation (black lacquer), gilded fillets, and bronzes are strong markers of the style.
