Lime box in repoussé silver, decorated with lotus petals and scrolls. Burma probably shan states, late nineteenth / early twentieth century. This type of silver box was used to contain lime powder, part of the betel nut quid. Provenance: estate of the belgian dealer and collector claude de marteau.
