Pair of 1950's Mid Century Bedside Tables

A pair of 1950’s bedside tables made of maple wood and elegant white opaxite glass. The bedside tables have softly curved corners on one side with a well balanced composition consisting of a large door with a smaller drawer, both with round orange handles, together with partly overhanging white glass on the top. The designer of these bedside tables is unknown but it is believed to be produced in former czechoslovakia during the 1950’s. There were many variations of this popular piece of furniture as it was an essential item for every stylish bedroom of the time. Both bedside tables have been recently refurbished to its former glory. Both pieces have been hand finished by shellac and nitro varnishes in order to achieve an original gloss finish. There is a small chip at the back of one of the white opaxite glass but otherwise they are in great condition with only minimal wear gained over the years.
