Triptych mirror with pediment, 1940s-1950s, with a unique style. Stable due to its weight (9kg) and solid in its construction. Folding table mirror with three panes, in neoclassical style, inspired by the Directoire period. Its central panel is topped with a triangular pediment, cut from the glass itself. An uncommon shape. The motifs are gilded and applied to the reverse of the glass, using the technique of églomisé. It features a laurel crown on the pediment, a double fillet, and corner motifs on the central glass, with a laurel branch on each flap. The assembly is well-crafted. The central glass is fixed to a dark green painted fibreboard panel, extended by an easel foot that allows the mirror to stand alone. A chrome profile holds the entire structure on the sides. The flaps are hinged with chrome hinges that directly support the glass, and their reverse is lined with red felt. The mirror is in good condition. Protected by the glass, the gilded motifs remain intact. The backing shows signs of oxidation. The mirror exhibits signs of use related to its age. The back shows a few small paint chips on the edges. The hinges function perfectly. This mirror is suitable for a dressing table, a chest of drawers, or an entrance console. Dimensions: L. 103 X D. 15.5 X H. 52 cm (unfolded, including pediment). Central panel: L. 34 X H. 44 cm. Flaps: L. 34 X H. 44 cm. Thickness of the panels and flap: 0.5 cm. Weight: 9 kg.
