2 antique column candle holders in white marble and brass

Elegant pair of vintage candlesticks in the shape of columns, combining statuary white marble and rich gilded bronze ornaments. The smooth cylindrical shaft, reminiscent of an ancient column, is adorned with a finely chiseled bronze laurel garland and topped with a Corinthian capital. It rests on a square base of white marble, framed by bronzes decorated with leafy scrolls, and stands on four bronze feet, highlighting the neoclassical nobility of the whole. The bobeche is in fluted gilded bronze, typical of the decorative vocabulary of the second half of the 19th century. The marble is crumbling at the base of one of the candlesticks, without compromising its stability, and the garland is detached.
