Parisian commode from the Louis XVI period, made at the end of the 18th century, in mahogany, featuring a sober and perfectly balanced line, characteristic of neoclassical taste. The front opens with three wide drawers arranged in three rows, framed by fine moulded surrounds highlighted with gilded brass fillets, showcasing the depth and warmth of the wood. The drawers are fitted with finely chiselled, elegantly uniform bronze handles and lock entries in gilded bronze. The fluted straight uprights, finished with gilded bronze sabots, give the whole piece a great visual lightness and perfect verticality. The commode rests on tapered legs, typical of the Louis XVI period. The piece is topped with a light marble surface, bordered by an openwork gallery in gilded brass, adding an extra touch of refinement and distinction. The mahogany displays a beautiful old patina, warm and satin-like, reflecting the age and quality of the furniture. The entire piece is in very good condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with its age, without structural alteration. This commode will fit perfectly into a classic or contemporary interior, whether in a bedroom, living room, or office, bringing elegance, functionality, and authenticity. šŸ“Œ Period: Louis XVI – late 18th century šŸ“Œ Material: mahogany and brass fillets šŸ“Œ Top: marble with gilded brass gallery šŸ“Œ Bronzes: original gilded bronzes šŸ“Œ Condition: good antique condition, beautiful patina (old crack in the marble) šŸ“Œ Dimensions: h85 x 129 x 58cm A piece of beautiful quality, combining sobriety, elegance, and nobility of materials.
