Vintage J39 chairs by Børge Mogensen for FDB, 1965

Beautiful set of four original J39 chairs, designed by Børge Mogensen for FDB Møbler and produced in Denmark, circa 1965. This iconic 'People's Chair' is considered one of the most important designs within Danish modernism and combines Shaker influences with a timeless, functional design. The chairs still have the original FDB label and have a beautiful warm patina. The chairs are in very neat original condition with the original woven rush seats. The seats are in exceptionally beautiful condition for their age, with only light signs of use appropriate to their age. The frames are stable and solid. A particularly authentic set with a lot of character. The set combines beautifully with the C18 Shaker table by Børge Mogensen, which we also offer.
